Nick Sheehan is the founder and CEO of EFEX, an Australian Business Technology Services provider, dedicated to ‘making IT simple and accessible’ for SMB’s through to enterprise sized companies.

As founder and CEO, Nick is responsible for overseeing the growth of the business through acquisition, expansion and diversification of new products and services as well as leading the team to success.

In just ten years, Nick has grown EFEX to a team of over 300 staff operating in 20 towns and cities across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA. This number will continue to trend upwards in the coming year.

Prior to founding EFEX in 2013, Nick founded another Managed Services company which was eventually acquired by Upstream/Fuji Xerox in 2010.

A combination of Nick’s strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, energy and his passion for helping others is part of the reasoning EFEX came to fruition. Nick noticed that notionally, newer technology was out of reach for many Australian business owners and C-level executives. This was primarily due to the large upfront capital outlay and complexity overload, rather than a customer service-led relationship whereby a range of technologies were available through a single provider, via a subscription or aaS (As a Service) consumption model.

Since it was founded, EFEX has won several awards over the years for its commitment to the Australian technology and SMB industry. In 2015 and 2016 EFEX was named on CRN’s Fast 50 list and in 2017 and 2018 was named an AFR Fast Starter. Since inception, efex has made 8 acquisitions and in 2021 took on private equity investment from well known Investment House Alceon, who saw the opportunity to invest in a growth asset in the IT space with regional capability and focus.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his son James on his vineyards in the Piccadilly Valley, breeding horses, keeping fit, spending time with friends and family and following his beloved GWS Giants football team.
