Ken started his career in IT over 40 years ago as a hardware engineer. In the mid eighties he moved into sales with Computer Maintenance Ireland and subsequently became its MD in 1991. During the next 8 years backed by Unicomp, a US Nasdaq quoted company he grew the business by a buy and build strategy from 17 to 230 employees.

Following the sale of the business he then spent the next 10 years in a number of roles providing a variety of consulting services providing mentoring, business development and general management for a range of companies.

In 2009 he started NewCMI (CMI) to create a new IT company focussed on providing Managed Services to the mid market private and third party sectors again via a buy and build strategy.

Having made 2 acquisitions initially in Northern Ireland he has subsequently led the business to make 4 more in South East England in the intervening years the company grew to 110 employees with a turnover of approx. £15m providing services to over 10000 end users.

In March 2023 the business was acquired by the BCN Group. Ken is now assisting with the integration project but is also interested in helping other MSP’s with their M&A activities.
